You finally made it! Four years, maybe even more and you’ve finally graduated college. After college graduation many decisions will come before you. Life after all the papers, professors, and pencils can be tons of fun and very exciting. But, many a college grad has had a hard time figuring out the next step. I had a very hard time figuring out what career field to head into after I graduated college. And I discovered that life after graduation can be pretty challenging.
One of the biggest things to focus on after college graduation is your career. Hopefully, you have a few job offers already so you can start your career path. If you don’t have a job, congratulations, you’ve discovered another lesson after college graduation. The lesson is that a degree doesn’t necessarily get you job. You will discover that although you have a degree you can’t get a job because you don’t have experience. And, you can’t get experience unless you get a job. This creates what I call the college grad dichotomy. It’s very annoying. But, stick with your job search and you’ll get a job soon. Provided you stay dedicated to applying for jobs.
You will also discover after college graduation that there will become a cultural shift between you and your friends. Many of your friends will be left back on campus as you venture out into the real world. All of sudden what you and your friends found in common will be totally different. This can be hard for many. But as with the weather, life has its seasons.
Continue to enjoy your journey after college graduation. It’s quite the ride.
